This week I finally embark on a trip that I have been eagerly awaiting. Along with my older sister and parents I will be traveling down to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate my old man’s 60th birthday—or as I’ve decided to rename it, his diamond celebration! (Yup I stole that from all the Disneyland marketing that’s invaded southern California…)
For the past couple of months, every time I was so stressed out and felt that my head was about to explode I told myself to hang in there because I would soon find myself permadrunk on the beautiful beaches of Cabo. I’m just kidding; I won’t be drunk the entire time…just a little bit.
Aside from needing to get out of LA for a bit and relax, I’m so eager for this trip because I haven’t been down to Cabo since my college days of spring break. Back then it was non stop partying and getting into trouble so I’m looking forward to making this a peaceful trip and sharing the time with my parents and sister.
To put myself in the getaway mood I’ve made a playlist of some perfectly opt tunes for anyone taking a nice beach vacation this summer. I listened to this playlist nonstop over the weekend as I did my preliminary packing and you bet your ass that I’ll also be listening to this on the plane ride over with a vodka on the rocks to numb my fear of flying. Some tracks are old classics and some are new discoveries.
Even if you’re not jetting off anywhere tropical this summer you can still plug in, push play and let your mind wander off for a bit at peace.
