Would you believe it if I said it’s taken me this long to FINALLY visit the “Levitated Mass” at LACMA? The installation art piece has been there since 2012 and although I have been to LAMA a few times since it’s arrival, I’ve never found myself driven to make the walk outside to the backside of the BCAM building to marvel at this suspended rock. On this sunny winter day in LA how could I refuse to with such beautiful weather outside?
Speaking of sun and beautiful weather, I’m writing this as I make my way to New York City for fashion week—yes it’s that time of the year again! I don’t think I’m physically or emotionally prepared for the snow that is waiting to greet me. I’ve seen snow twice MAYBE three times in my life and being a true Angeleno at heart I don’t do well with cold temperatures. People have been asking, “Oh have you never been to NYC before?” I tell them: “No I have in the spring and summer months…but I’ve never been dumb enough to visit in the winter. So wish me luck!” It’ll be a while before I get to don simple outfits like this for a while. Let’s pray I don’t turn into a human popsicle before coming back.
